Krugman: Ryan budget is "voodoo economics, with an extra dose of fantasy, and a large helping of mean-spiritedness"

When will the Christian Conservative middle-class wake up and realize the GOP is selling the down them river?

From Krugman's article:
In the past, Mr. Ryan has talked a good game about taking care of those in need. But as the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities points out, of the $4 trillion in spending cuts he proposes over the next decade, two-thirds involve cutting programs that mainly serve low-income Americans. And by repealing last year’s health reform, without any replacement, the plan would also deprive an estimated 34 million nonelderly Americans of health insurance.
For the love of all that's important...If we don't stop the GOP, the wealthy get richer, and the middle-class go back to the 19th century. Mr Ryan, you want to reform social programs fine, but not without fairly taxing the wealthy, corporations, and cutting military spending. Not no, hell no.

GOP Ryan budget deeply harms elderly and middle-class

This from a letter to the NYTimes...I could not say it better.
"The only thing courageous about Representative Paul D. Ryan’s proposal is that it dares to suggest reviving the America of the 19th century, when the poor, the elderly, the infirm and the otherwise unfortunate solved the problems they might have posed by simply dying off."
Indeed.

GOP now proposing to kill Medicare

The GOP is now proposing to kill Medicare, harm the middle-class in the name of budgets. All while asking nothing from the wealthy or corporations. http://bit.ly/f74Yq5 Surely you're not surprised. This is the main theme of my book. Christian Conservatives vote for the GOP on social issues (gay marriage, abortion, etc) but get nothing on that topic done, instead the GOP continues to harm the middle-class in favor of the wealthy and business. If you're middle-class and you vote for the GOP, you are voting against your own best interests. Don't believe me? Read my book. You are, and it's easy to prove.

Excerpt from my book: Chapter - Conclusions

Excerpt from Chapter: Conclusions

If you are a Christian conservative voter, I hope this book has given you pause to consider the power you have at your disposal. You and those who believe like you are reported to be more than one-fourth of the US electorate - a formidable voting block. If you focus your vote and your interests simply on the emotional social issues that stir you - abortion, gay rights, gun rights, God in government, and fighting moral decay in general - you do so at your own peril. Indeed, by focusing so much interest on emotional social issues, you set yourself up to be manipulated by politicians who piously tell you what you want to hear. As we have shown, even if they get elected, they almost never really address your social issues. You have wasted your vote, and harmed your families financial stability, and indirectly harmed the US economy in terrible ways.

CNN Blogger confronts belief vs rationality

http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2011/04/01/my-take-it-doesnt-matter-who-wrote-the-bible/?hpt=C2

This blog starts, "I am a person of faith. But sometimes I like to step outside of faith and just think about things rationally." I write about this in my book-http://amzn.com/B004S2U0JC.

I think it is this internal battle within many Christians between faith (belief without evidence), and rationality that is the unique Christian mindset exploited by Conservative politicians. Fascinating.
